The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.

I had a fabulous time in California at the Mixed Media Retreat. I just returned home and I'm a tad tired so I'm going to keep this posting short and sweet but will fill you in on this wonderful trip over the next few days.
I couldn't have asked for better weather. The temperatures, humidity and sunshine were perfect. There was one day during my trip where I actually had time to lay out by the pool and soak in the sun and breeze...
I was suppose to have returned last evening around midnight. While I was waiting for my connecting flight in Chicago, they announced that they were oversold and could they get a couple of volunteers to take the flight in the morning. They would put us up in a good quality hotel, give us $20 in food vouchers, fly first class on the morning flight and receive a really nice credit to use on a future flight. I did a very quick analysis and decided I would much rather arrive home in the morning than to take the airport shuttle to get my car and drive home after midnight. Mr. Cottage and Molly were already at the cottage and I would be going home to an empty house. Well, within seconds I was up at their counter and willingly relinquished my ticket. There was a young woman who was nearly in tears and then was so thankful to me that she would make it home last evening. She said she had been away for 10 days and her children and her could hardly wait to see each other again.
I finally arrived home this morning, unpacked, did a little laundry, repacked and headed up to the cottage. I am just plain exhausted and think I'm going to get some rest for the night. See ya tomorrow!
