A Little Bliss

Do not take anything for granted - not one smile or one person or one rainbow or one breath, or one night in your cozy bed.

I've decided to take part in Liv Lane's A Little Bliss List link party today.  She has these every Friday on her blog posting and has a link set up for everyone to take part in and to see what others have listed for their bliss.   If you look above, you notice that I have a tab titled Gratitude.  Bliss is sort of like this, but can also include how you're feeling about the joy and contentment in your life.

So as I reflect back on this week, these are a few moments that have blessed me:

  1. Son #1 called last evening just to talk.  Now this may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but it was to me.  Usually the "boys" call good old mom and dad when they need something in particular or to wish us a "happy birthday" or whatever the celebration may be.   Also, our #1 son travels a lot and many times is out of the country, so it's not always easy to get a hold of him.  It was just great being able to sit outside in our Adirondack chairs and watch the lake and the evening sky as we had a very enjoyable conversation.
  2. I am just so happy that I decided to do computer work, and later paint and work on my art, in our gazebo.  It was just too nice a day to sit inside to do all of this.  Why I've never done this in the past, I have no idea.  But now that I have it's like increasing my studio space at the cottage.  Even Molly was brought out there because she likes to be with us.
  3. I love antiques and vintage items!  Love them!  The other evening we found out that a couple of antique stores had closed up in town and that the one where I bought my handstitched quilt from last summer was in the process of closing.  Mr. Cottage and I took a drive into town and discovered that it wasn't open, but there were items inside.  We probably looked like a couple of dorks peeking in the windows, but what I saw inside was luscious.  Mr. Cottage saw a great little cabinet that he said would be perfect for our new printer for the cottage to sit on.  I could see some price tags and everything was slashed.  I slipped one of my business cards under the door and that evening the owner called me.  We're going into town today to get that cabinet and see what else he has left in the shop.
  4. There's a cute restaurant on another lake near our cottage.  We went there the other evening for their Taco Tuesdays where tacos are $1 each!  We went with friends and then later went back to their place.  Nothing can beat a great time with your friends!
  5. We are officially settled into living at the cottage for the summer.  I love it up here!  The sounds and views are so different from being at home.  The other evening I took Molly out for one last time for the evening and looked up at the sky.  In the country you can see the millions of stars shining in the sky and it's beyond awesome.  Makes you feel how insignificant we really are, in the scheme of things.

How about you?  Any bliss you experienced this week that you want to share?  Feel free to leave it in the comment section to help bring joy into other's lives.

    1. Great way to make contact by slipping a card under the door. A happy ending for both parties.

    5. Visiting through the Bliss List Link Party.

Your list is wonderful. I can understand how the call from your son could give you such bliss, especially in such a lovely environment.
