My Blue Heron

"Creativity is the Blue Heron within us waiting to fly; through her imagination, all things become possible."
                                                                           ~ Nadia Janice Brown

When I was taking photos of my birdhouses the other evening, I couldn't help but take one of my Blue Heron...

He is probably one of my favorites of all our lawn ornaments.  And believe it or not, but I didn't have to pay any money for him.  Back when I was doing art shows with my baskets that I wove, I ended up bartering for him.  I love how he has rusted over time.

But I have to be honest and tell you our yard looks absolutely terrible.  With us being at the cottage and so much drought this year, we have patches and patches of brown grass.  And my Russian Sage...

Oh my, what you see is all there is.  Not very full at all.  And our Scabiosa is really pathetic...

I hope your flowers and garden are looking better than ours right now.  I know that we definitely need more rain here in the lower part of Michigan.  So how are your flowers blooming or not?

  1. Carol, we have Great Blue Herons on the coast near my house. I can see them nearly any day I go down there. They are slow moving and graceful. I think of them as monks living mindfully and gently. I love yours. I am sure I will think of you when I see mine. What a lovely connection!
