Just A Few Little Challenges

"I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order"
                                                                                    ~John Burroughs

I mentioned that I'm still playing with and learning about my camera and lenses that I purchased a few years ago.  We were invited out Saturday evening for a leisurely pontoon ride and I decided to take my camera along...

Mr. Cottage and my brother-in-law were on the lookout for great shots for me to take with my camera (like the one above with the setting sun shining on the trees)...

I'd go to take a photo and realized my lens cap was still on (note to self...leave the lens cap off)...

Then I would shutter between manual and sports mode.  I never use my auto mode and when I'm in manual, obviously adjustments need to be made.  Sometimes I'd get it in time and other times, not so...

What was hilarious was when my brother-in-law, Paul, would point out and say "there's a great shot".  "Where?"  "Can't you see it, it's right in front of me".  Problem was, I was sitting just behind him; so all I saw was Paul...

Then I heard everyone yell out, "here comes a flock of geese"...and I would yell out "Where, I don't see them"!  Seriously, I was poked and picked on all evening (and even now by Mr. Cottage), because I kept looking in "the wrong" directions.  And it didn't help that there were metal bars everywhere, holding up the canvas awning on top of the pontoon boat...

But fortunately I got a few great shots of the geese flying...

and even of the moon...

So on Sunday I thought I would add these photos to our new Mac.  However, there's really not much of any photo editing in it.  We're going to have to buy Photoshop for the Mac, but in the meantime, I thought I would just edit through PicMonkey.  It's a free photo editing site that is very easy to use, but it said I needed Adobe Flash Player, which our Mac didn't have.  So after checking with our daughter, I was told to go ahead and install it and VOILA...

You can now enjoy my photos.  FYI, I always resize my photos before adding them to my blog and I needed PicMonkey to do this and to get my watermark onto each photo.  Just a few little challenges.

    1. Thanks Karianne! I'll never be a professional but I've come a long ways. Thank goodness for digital cameras vs the old film cameras. I can't begin to tell you how many pictures and slides didn't turn out and we still had to pay for them.
