A Day of Gratitude

I'm not going to sugar-coat today and tell you it was all sunshine and roses, but it was a day to be thankful and it's not even Thanksgiving yet.  I started the day by getting my pumpkin pies into the oven and baking early this morning, then it was running lots of errands.  But I took a breather, thanks to Mr. Cottage, and had a wonderful pedicure this afternoon, after which Mr. Cottage and I went out to dinner.  Son #2 gave me a GC some time ago for P. F. Changs and I informed Mr. Cottage we were going to use it before Thanksgiving.  There isn't a P.F. Changs in Florida where we winter and I wanted to use it before we left...

 

I had been to one in VA before, but never this one in Grand Rapids.  I was advised to make reservations and I'm so grateful that I did.  For a Tuesday, the place was packed and there wasn't an empty table anywhere.  The food and decor were outstanding.  The lighting shades really made an impact statement...

I know you can't tell from this photo, but each shade was at least 4 feet in height and were in cloisters of three throughout the restaurant.

We returned home and I talked with my good friend, Kelly, and found that overall she's doing well (she's had some health issues); and I found out today that my other friend, Sally, is done with her radiation treatments. 

Overall, a great day of gratitude!
