A Day Of Miniatures

"Look at the bark of a redwood, and you see moss.  If you peer beneath the bits and pieces of the moss, you'll see toads, small insects, a whole host of life that prospers in that miniature environment.  A lumberman will look at a forest and see so many board feet of lumber.  I see a living city."
                                                                                   ~Sylvia Earle

After I ran an errand and got out of my car today, I noticed a small plastic stool had blown away from all the high wind and rains from last night.  I went to pick it up and look what I saw...

As I tried to get my camera phone lower to him, he started to jump and hop away...

You can just barely make him out under the blades of grass...

Just so you can see how small he really is, no more than 1/2 to 3/4 inch in size.  It's amazing I even spotted him, and that was only because he was leaping around...

The wonders of God and nature...

I'm in the middle of creating a custom mixed media for one of our daughters-in-law and thought a real, tiny bell would add a great touch.  But trying to locate one wasn't all that easy.  I finally found some on Etsy and knew it would be perfect.  It said each one measured only 3/8 inch.  I had to buy an entire bag, but with shipping my cost only came to $5.  These were delivered in the mail today...

That's a dime under one of the bells...

Now I'll have to come up with other ideas for using these bells.  It shouldn't be too hard with Christmas around the corner and two art shows coming up.
