~Chinese Proverb
Our zoo just got a pair of tigers about a month ago and I was so excited to see them. Of course, we let Corbin have his fun first and then we walked to see the tigers...
When we got there, they were both napping. but then the one of them started to wake up...
From what I've been able to put together, the zoo lost a 17 years old male tiger in 2006 and a year or so later, sent the female to another zoo...
I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but tigers are on the endangered species list. These are the Amur subspecies, better known as Siberian tigers. There are already several subspecies that have disappeared and of these Amur tigers, supposedly there are only about 400 of them left in the wild. Pretty sad...
Corbin, admiring the huge tiger, walking around...
Just before leaving this exhibit, this one decided to join the other again for another nap...
We let Corbin play on the train and go to the petting area last time before heading home. Because Corbin is currently in a hands-on mode, we didn't take the time to see many of the other animals.
